April is such a beautiful month; especially, in the heart of Orlando, Florida. There is a buzz of magic in the ether and the scent of citrus gardens lingering on the air. It’s a remarkable time of year in an extraordinary city.
What’s even more magical is when you’re invited to participate in Styled Shoots Across America and they are holding it in your own back yard!
As an Orlando Wedding Photographer, I’ve grown a bit accustomed to the outdoor weddings, wedding parties, golf courses. That said, I could never outgrow a Ritz Carlton Orlando Wedding. A wedding venue that exudes elegance and whispers the ideal of luxury in every hall. It’s sophistication at every turn.
So, before I move onto the actual event, since I’m a bit of a history buff, I’d love to talk a little about the Ritz Carlton itself.
While the Ritz Carlton Ballroom is typically the most talked about space, every area of a Ritz Carlton is held to high esteem.
And for good reason.
The name Ritz is an established one, and one worthy of note.
Puttin’ on the Ritz
A young man with grit, passion and determination had a dream. That dream was to become a worthwhile waiter at a french bistro
Unfortunately, he wasn’t good at this. He moved too quickly, dropped dishes too often and wound up being unemployed. Fortunately he took being a waiter to heart and tried again at a different bistro, slowed down and worked his way up to manager. Soon he would be the head-waiter at Hôtel Splendide.
This would set a domino effect that would lead that young man to becoming synonymous with the word luxury.
Near the turn of the century, Cesar Ritz would change the world of fine hotels and restorts. Compounding all the knowledge he had gained during his time as a head waiter, bistro manager, hotel manager and maitre d, Cesar opened his own hotel chain. With a record swiftness, Cesar found his hotel in multiple countries across Europe and soon the world.
Known for its attention to detail and immaculate service (two immense tenants to the idea of luxury) the Ritz would become a common household name, associated with luxury.
Which brings us over a century later to the magical city of Orlando.
Ritz Carlton Orlando Wedding
Overlooking the Grande Lakes of Orlando, the Ritz Carlton is a sight in and of itself. Its courtyard and Tuscany ballroom, Lake Side Gazebo, Whisper Creek Farm Citrus Garden and over 30 more event spaces make it one of the finest wedding venues in all of Orlando and the reason its award winning. But, when it is made up to be even more beautiful by Heather Benge and Alexia Woolum it becomes the dream wedding venue.
Coupled with the astonishing florals by The Floral Way Events, this editorial styled shoot created an incredible image of what you can expect when planning your wedding day for the Ritz Carlton in Orlando.
For our shoot, we utilized the courtyard, to get as much of that soft Florida sun as possible. The pink hues of the Ritz adorned with peonies and coral roses made for incredible beauty. They drank in the sun as if it were a wedding in Tuscany. It gave such beautiful Mediterranean vibes.
And, of course, who would I be if I did not mention the incredible cake design by Morgan Hunter Desserts. Her use of blues, pinks and greens created such a beautiful balance with the theme of the day. Not to mention her cake looked delicious.
In truth, I could speak about the Ritz and the shoot all day, but I think this is a good place to stop. Why tell you about this incredible venue when I can just show you?
Enjoy these photos from one of the most beautiful places in all of America.
