Tip #1: Infuse your session with personality by picking a location that holds significance to you!
For this session, we wanted to stay inside the city of Tampa, but wanted to include the beautiful serenity of the ocean without being on the beach. A park near Davis Island Yacht Club with a view of peaceful sailboats made for a perfect backdrop at sunset!
Tip #3: Incorporate accessories, props, and/or hobbies that hold personal value, and style them (and yourselves!) accordingly.
Since the couple had restored their beautiful baby blue vintage Mustang together and it was finally complete, it was the perfect prop to anchor the theme of their photo shoot, and its vintage charm is complemented by the elegant, classic styles the couple chose to wear. The color palate is consistent throughout the story – they stuck with muted blues, grays, and blacks – and this color palate is echoed through the fashion choices, vintage Mustang, as well as the setting of the yacht club. It’s cohesive – and that elevates the entire look!
Tip #3: Okay, you guys knew I was going to throw this one in there – include your pets!
Your pets are part of your family, and we absolutely LOVE it when couples opt to include their fluffy friends. Of course, pets add an extra dose of cuteness to any session (I mean, just look at this adorable pup above! We are obsessed!) but they also have an extra-special talent that people often forget: they have a magical way of bringing out your most real, genuine smiles and laughter. Absolutely everyone looks their best when they are happy, relaxed, and having a good time – and if your pet will put you or your partner in a good mood, or coax out some smiles and laughter – we wholeheartedly encourage you to consider including them in photos.
