Oh my goodness, y’all! I don’t even know where to start with this wedding because I just loved *everything* about it so much. Not only are Taylor & her husband Paul a gorgeous couple, but they are fun, kind, and unbelievably cool. Their families and friends? Same thing – amazing. Honestly, I don’t know how I find these fantastic clients but I really do get blessed with the best ones.
Paul & Taylor’s wedding day itself was flawless – a gorgeous venue (Royal Oak Orchard in Harvard, Illinois), perfect weather, and the best party (we’ll get to that later). Did you know Starbucks apparently gives you a free drink on your wedding day? Taylor told me this while she was getting ready, and I immediately was 2000 percent on board with documenting a bridal coffee run. I mean….coffee & weddings are literally two of my favorite things in the entire world, so….yeah. Count me in. Every time. I’m there.
The girls were first to arrive at the orchard while the guys got ready at Paul’s home.
^ someone was feeling blue about not getting to go to the wedding, I think 😉
Paul & Taylor opted for a first look (Something I like to encourage couples to do if they’re down for it – and the proof as to why? check out these reactions. So sweet).
I could photograph these two all day.
Taylor, you are STUNNING girl. A regular supermodel.
And this entire wedding party? Fabulous. They rocked it.
^ One of my favorite photos ever. So much happy. Those are the best moments to capture on camera!
The orchard had a carousel so naturally, photos had to happen.
And then it was time to say “I do!”
One of the most beautiful aspects of Taylor & Paul’s wedding was when their pastor asked for their families and wedding party to join in prayer for the couple and their marriage. It was a beautiful, sacred moment so full of love and God’s blessings.
^ This particular moment…Taylor’s father’s hand on his daughter’s shoulder as he prays for her marriage….oh, I cried. Right into my camera lens I cried. Beautiful. This is what family and marriage is all about.
The light came out so perfectly after the ceremony and we had to steal them away for a few more photos.
Every detail at the reception had been tended to with love and care (and some major DIY skills). Jenna (my second shooter) and I may have gone a little crazy over shooting all of them – but can you blame us? It was just so pretty!
When it came time to cut the cake, these two did not disappoint. Cake smashing happened. Laughter happened. Those two singing the words of their song to each other (Brad Paisley’s ‘Then’)….once again, they are just too sweet and perfect for words.
And this moment between father & daughter…another tear-jerker for this girl right here.
But when the first dances were over….the party really started. This was one FUN wedding. Everyone was on the dance floor. Everyone was having a good time. I may have been guilty of some dancing amidst snapshot taking as well. 😉
Taylor and Paul…CONGRATS! I’m so happy for you both and so honored you chose me to photograph your wedding.
Additionally, a huge shout out of thanks to my girl Jenna Marie Photography for second shooting with me. Jenna, you were such a God-send to me and such an asset on this beautiful day. I hope I can return the favor sometime.
