I have been so excited to blog and share these photos ever since the day I took them – June 29, 2014 – Meredith and Nathan’s wedding day. I first got to hang out with this fabulously fun couple in downtown Chicago when I shot their engagement photos. We had so much running around the city together in Meredith’s car, trying to avoid parking tickets as we hit up the perfect photo-op stops all over the Museum Campus area. Hanging out with them was just effortlessly comfortable from the start – they are one of those rare types that you can meet and suddenly feel like you’ve been friends for ages.
When Meredith asked me about shooting the wedding photos shortly after, you better believe I said yes! As I’ve already established, Meredith and Nathan are wonderful. So add that their location – Starved Rock Lodge in Utica, Illinois – is one of my absolute favorite parks in the area, and that their decor – a rustic meets modern blend of DIY’d perfection – was to die for? Oh my goodness, count me in!!!!
I honestly could go on and on about this couple and their beautiful day, but I think (as always) that sometimes pictures really are worth a thousand words….
How perfect is Meredith’s reaction to taking sneak peek of the reception room during the first look? Love this! Every bride should be that happy on her day. I can’t resist a cute baby. Ever. End of the night = the shoes (no matter how pretty) come off. Girl after my own heart.
